Independent and Employee Personal Trainer Positions

ISF is a 10,000 square foot facility that provides superior equipment in a unique atmosphere that welcomes the professional athlete and first time exerciser. As an independent trainer, you will have use of the facility to develop your clientele. Our facility has a martial arts/boxing area, incline track, speed stairs, climbing wall, extensive resistance equipment, cardiovascular equipment, Pilates, Gyrotonics and even offers sophisticated athletic testing such as VO2 Peak, isokinetic strength and balance assessments.
You should have completed the NPTI program or degree equivalent, and hold at least one nationally recognized certification from ACE, AFAA, NSCA, ACSM, NASM or NESTA. Additionally, you should have at least 6 months work experience in training, hold a current CPR card and have your own liability insurance. While not required, a background as a competitive athlete is a plus for this position because of the number of athletes who use our facility.

Intern Positions
Inner Strength Fitness is a 10,000 square foot facility that provides superior equipment in a unique atmosphere that welcomes the professional athlete and first time exerciser. Our facility has a martial arts/boxing area, incline track, speed stairs, climbing wall, extensive resistance equipment, cardiovascular equipment, Pilates, Gyrotonics and even offers sophisticated athletic testing such as VO2 Peak, isokinetic strength and balance assessments. ISF also houses a small physical therapy clinic, and depending upon background, you may be eligible to perform part of your internship with that operation.
For this position, you should be currently enrolled, and working towards NPTI graduation. You should have interests in both fitness and sports training, and former athletic experience is a plus. We are looking for one person for morning/early afternoon, and another for later afternoon/evening. If selected for an interview, specific hours will be discussed and agreed upon, between 15-20 hours per week. You may be considered for employment upon NPTI graduation. The time frame is from approximately June 15 to August 15, 2009.
In this position, you will learn various aspects of the training/club business through regular duties, trainer shadowing, research and projects mutually agreed upon by your advisor. You will have one project in marketing and another in sports/fitness training. You will be assigned to subjects in the research project, which runs from approximately June 15-July 20, and will work with each client for a 30 minute session, 3 times per week on a set schedule.
Compensation: The intern portion of the program has no compensation except certificate, yet training subjects in the research program is compensated at $15 per hour.
